Homemade Pesto

With the basil in our yard thriving, I decided to use up some of the leaves to make some delicious pesto sauce. Pesto will freeze so you can use it anytime. I made a half batch of this recipe to use for some grilled chicken tonight and a half batch will easily cover your favorite pasta for a yummy dinner.


2 c. packed fresh basil leaves
2/3 c. pine nuts (these go bad quickly - be sure to keep them in the freezer)
2/3 c. Parmesan cheese (I used the block and microplane mine)
2 cloves of garlic
1 t. salt
1/4t. pepper
2/3 c. olive oil

Place all in food processor and process about 10 seconds.
